Prolysis is a privately-owned company and has raised ca. £11m in venture funding since 2001 to create its portfolio of antibacterial drug programmes.

The most recent funding round was closed in May 2005. This was led by existing shareholders East Hill Management Company, Boston, USA and was joined by Fujisawa Investments for Entrepreneurs, L.P. ("FITE") and Fujisawa Investments for Entrepreneurs II, L.P. ("FITE II") investment arms of the Japanese pharmaceutical company, Astellas Pharma.
